چکیده
We thank Dr Jim Savage for his interest in, and comment on, our paper (Kanamori et al. 2019, hereafter referred to as KRL19), where we showed that the commonly believed thrust-fault mechanism of 1960 Chilean earthquake (Mw = 9.5) is not compatible with teleseismic data (e.g. strain seismograms at Isabella, California, Ogdensburg, New Jersey, long-period Pasadena, California Berkely, California) suggested dextral-slip component comparable in amount dip-slip required. did test model against shear Chile published Plafker & (1970). (2021, S21) investigated whether large dextral slip observed data. He concluded was very small, provides no obvious evidence component. However, he also stated...

The 3 December 1988 Pasadena, California Earthquake: Evidence for Strike-slip Motion on the Raymond Fault by Lucile
The Pasadena earthquake (ML ~4.9) occurred on 3 December 1988, at a depth of 16 km. The hypocenters of the earthquake and its aftershocks define a eastnortheast striking, steeply northwest-dipping surface that projects up to the active surficial trace of the Raymond fault. One of the nodal planes of the focal mechanism of the earthquake parallels the Raymond fault with left-lateral strikeslip m...
متن کاملa study on insurer solvency by panel data model: the case of iranian insurance market
the aim of this thesis is an approach for assessing insurer’s solvency for iranian insurance companies. we use of economic data with both time series and cross-sectional variation, thus by using the panel data model will survey the insurer solvency.
Radically Questioning the Principle of the Least Restrictive Alternative: A Reply to Nir Eyal; Comment on “Nudging by Shaming, Shaming by Nudging”
In his insightful editorial, Nir Eyal explores the connections between nudging and shaming. One upshot of his argument is that we should question the principle of the least restrictive alternative in public health and health policy. In this commentary, I maintain that Eyal’s argument undermines only a rather implausible version of the principle of the least restrictive alternative and I sketch ...
متن کاملepl draft Reply Reply to the Comment by S . E . Sebastian and N . Harrison
In their comment, Sebastian and Harrison (SH) suggest that our torque and force measurements in SrCu2(BO3)2 [1] are incorrect due to a non-linear regime in the cantilever operation and deny the importance of Dzyaloshinski-Moriya (DM) interaction in torque measurements. In this reply, we show that their arguments are incorrect and why neither the torque measurements [1, 2] nor the magnetization ...
متن کاملSubmitted to Physical Review C in reply to a Comment by M.K.Orlowski on the paper
This reply claims to show that the mathematical difficulty noted by Orlowski was already met in the original paper by invoking the physical restrictions arising from relativistic kinematics and an ordered limit based on them. In contrast we claim that Orlowski's procedure is unmotivated physically, ad hoc from a mathematical point of view, and, even if adopted, too flexible to be of much use in...
